Before becoming an elite boxer, I was a gymnast, but since I started boxing at 18, I haven't looked back. While I was training and competing I was a dedicated competitive fighter with more than 25 fights under my belt. I went on to become a 2x Provincial Champion, 2x Western Canadian Champion, Silver medalist at the Canadian National Championships and attended the Olympic Trials in Montreal. I was also awarded "Best Elite Female Boxer 2014." at Provincial Championships,
I want to share my passion. Sharing my love for boxing with my clients is my DREAM job. It also gives me great satisfaction when I see that my clients are improving and enjoying the process.
Aside from my love of boxing, I enjoy meeting new people and love getting to know my clients and bonding with them. It is about more than just the training, my clients have become my friends, and I'm grateful for that.
Coaching boxing makes me happy, and it makes me even happier to know I'm making other people happy when they come to train with me! There's always lots of laughs in my sessions as well as sweat. It's a great balance! Click on the picture for a short video!
MY GOALS FOR MY CLIENTS:
Seeing my clients succeed in the gym is important, but it is equally important that my clients are doing well outside the gym. Taking care of yourself is essential, even if it is just an hour once a week. Seeing my clients enjoy our sessions together is great, and if they want to use their hour with me to "get away from life" and do something for themselves (be a little selfish!) I am just as happy.
You'll leave sweaty with a smile on your face, feeling refreshed and ready to continue with life's challenges.
My B.C. roots started in Surrey, Vancouver, but I was raised on the Queen Charlotte Islands in Masset. I moved a couple more times before making the island my home. At the age of 7, I moved to Ontario with my parents, where we stayed until I was 18. My parents decided to move to Victoria, British Columbia, but I didn't follow them out here until I was 22. It took my parents four years to convince me to move, and the most significant thing holding me back was the idea that "there's no boxing out there!" I finally came to try it just for one year to shut them up, and here I am, seven years later! And I own a gym now. So, it's safe to say I'll be here forever. My daughter and I wouldn't have it any other way.
MY PERSONAL GOALS:
I am currently attending Camosun College and working on completing the 2 year diploma in Kinesiology. After I graduate I will go into strength and conditioning with the end goal being to train athletes for their specific sport, of course my main focus will be on boxers.
This certification will allow me to become a better and more well-rounded coach able to coach anyone at any level.
I am also continuing to progress through the Boxing Canada coaching levels to achieve my level 3 NCCP. This certification will allow me to coach fighters in the ring at the highest levels.
Lastly, I want to continue growing a successful business where everyone feels welcomed and empowered no matter their fitness level!
